The International Cooperation for Convergence of Technical Requirements for the Assessment of Feed Ingredients (ICCF) has launched a public consultation on its draft guidance document on ‘Manufacturing Process and Specifications’. Interested stakeholders are invited to provide their comments on this draft guidance document by 05 February 2021.
The draft guidance document provides guidance to applicants for providing relevant information necessary for the safety evaluation of feed ingredients. It provides requirements for the submission of information on the manufacturing process, including the relevant steps. It also provides indications on the relevant information to be used when setting the specifications of the feed ingredients. The guidance document was developed by a panel of experts drawn from the ICCF founding members.

It was founded by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada (ANAC), the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), the European Commission (DG SANTE) and the EU Association of Specialty Feed Ingredients and their Mixtures (FEFANA), and the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF).
